(signature of Clerk) Additional Comments: I believe William and Thomas Whitson were sons of Thomas Whitson Sr. The Whitson family had been in Norfolk Co., VA before moving to Stafford, Thomas Whitson Sr. was mentioned in the 1678 Will of Thomas Axwell of Norfolk County along with his father Joseph Sr. and brother Joseph Jr. It is believed they were relatives of John Whitson who was hanged in 1676 because of his part in Bacon's Rebellion. William and his brother Thomas Whitson were in Surry County militia records for 1701. William is living in Stafford County by 1723 and paying taxes on 400 acres of land.
