Oneda Ashley 

  Oneda A. Ashley, 67, of 4369 Whaleyville Blvd., died July 18, 1990, in 
DePaul Hospital, Norfolk.  A native of Chowan County, she was the daughter 
of the late John F. Ashley. 

  She was a member of Liberty Spring Christian Church, its Ladies Bible Class 
and Circle No. 2. 

  Survivors include her husband, Willie Edward Ashley; her mother, Myrtle 
Williams Ashley of Suffolk; her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Diane Ashley of 
Suffolk; three sisters, Ertia A. Lane of Winfall, N.C., Thelma A. Lane of 
Tyner, N.C., and Edith A. Overton of Greenville, N.C.; three brothers, Robert 
F. Ashley of Tyner, James E. Ashley and Herman B. Ashley, both of Suffolk; 
and two grandchildren. 

  The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Liberty Spring 
Christian Church by the Revs. Joseph A. Talley and William A. Grissom.  Burial 
will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. 

  The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hill 
Funeral Home.
