Mrs. Atkins, a Wakefield native, taught in Nelson County schools. She was a member of Rocky Hock United Methodist Church, Wakefield. She was the widow of Searle T. Atkins, Sr. Survivors include two daughters, Mary A. Dungan of Holiday, Fla., and Irene Hines of Portsmouth; two sons, Searle T. Atkins, Jr. of Frederick, Md., and Joel J. Atkins of Portsmouth; three sisters, Virginia Darden of Norfolk, Louise Swink of Blacksburg, and Helen Johnson of Deltaville; a brother, Arthur Presson of Wakefield; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held Monday in Western Branch Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph D. Lang. Brenan-Morlino Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Myrtie Estelle (FISHER; Mrs. Searle T.
