Julian Boyce 

  Julian G. "Tick" Boyce, 79, of 1065 Nansemond Pkwy., died Aug. 18, 1995, in 
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.  A native of Chowan County, N.C., he was the 
widower of Louise Tyler Boyce; and son of the late Willis D. Boyce and 
Katherine Byrum Boyce. 

  He had retired from the State Highway Department.  Mr. Boyce was the owner 
and operator of Tick's Bicycle Shop.  He belonged to First Baptist Church, and 
was a member of the Progressive Men's Sunday School Class of West End Baptist 
Church.  He was a charter member of the Magnolia Ruritan Club.  He was a World 
War II Army veteran. 

  Survivors include a brother, Ralph Boyce of Collins, Miss.; and nieces and 
nephews. 

  The funeral will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. in 
Hill Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. 

  The family will receive visitors Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. in the funeral 
home, and other times at the home of Nancy C. Claud, 1065 Nansemond Pkwy.

   Center Hill, Chowan Co., NC.
