Harrell Funeral Home by the Revs. Conrad Cornelius and Garland Bennett. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Copeland Paul, William Jesse, B.F. Dixon, Lynn Alphin, Thomas Alphin, William E. Wiklins, A.D. Henderson and A.J. Cobb. Bland died Friday in his home. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the husband of the late Virgie Cobb Bland. He was a retired service station operator and was a member of Windsor Christian Church and its men’s Baracca Club and was a member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include a daughter, Flora B. Holland of Suffolk; five sons, Allen Tilson Bland and Robert Ivan Bland of Courtland, Charles W. Bland and Donald R. Bland of Windsor and James E. Bland of Carrsville; and three sisters, Louise B. Redd of Walters, Marjorie B. Ricks of Portsmouth and Helen Stephenson of Windsor.
