Benton Miss Mary Frances Benton, 72, of Nansemond Convalescent Center, died Friday night in Louise Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Roscoe S. Benton, and Mrs. Rebecca Knight Benton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She worked for Kelly Furniture Company and a former rural carrier for the Suffolk News-Herald. She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. Virginia Ann Gallagher, of Potomac, Md., Mrs. Patricia H. Powell of Salem Virginia; and one nephew, O. Bryan Hayes of Christiansburg. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the R.W. Baker Co. Funeral Home by Dr. Wayne W. Poplin. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
