IRVY JONES BURCHETT 

  Irvy Jones Burchett, 100, died Dec. 22, 2000. 

  Ms. Burchett was born Dec. 10, 1900, in Nansemond County, and was the 
daughter of the late LeRoy W. and Sue Carter Jones.  Ms. Burchett was 
predeceased by two sons, Paul and William Burchett.  She was a member 
of Oxford United Methodist Church, and a retired bookkeeper for Crestar Bank. 

  Survivors include one son, John Earl Burchett of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three 
daughters, Virginia Tackett of Prestonsburg, Ky., Betty Almarode of 
Tallahassee, Fla., and Jane Wommack of Suffolk. 

  A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedar Hill 
Cemetery by the Rev. Clifton Whitlock.  The family will receive friends at the 
home of Jane Wommack, 720 Dumville Ave.  Memorial donations may be made to the 
Memorial Fund of Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., 
Suffolk, VA. 23434.  R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is in charge of 
arrangements.
