She was a native of Chowan County, N.C., and the widow of Jesse Spurgeon Bristow, who died recently. Mrs. Bristow was the daughter of the late John A. Madison and Mrs. Mary Ellar [sic; Ella] Ashley Madison. She was a charter member of the West End Baptist Church, and also a charter member of the Ladies Loyalty Sunday School class. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Peggy B. Farnsworth and one sister, Mrs. Lillian M. Duke, both of Suffolk, as well as one granddaughter. A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery conducted by Dr. Donald J. Dunlap. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight in the Hill-Underwood Funeral Home.
