A native of Southampton County, Mr. Brittle retired after 43 years of service from Newport News Shipbuilding. He was a member of Noland Memorial United Methodist Church, Newport News. He was predeceased by his wife, Marion Rayfield Brittle; and his parents, Addicus Samuel Brittle and Lula Maude Brittle. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation at the residence. Funeral 3 p.m. Thursday, May 26, at the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Jackson Joyner. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Newport News. Memorials to a favorite charity.
