A native of Suffolk, he was the son of Mrs. Sallie Barrett Brown of Suffolk and the late Joseph Amiss Brown. He was a retired Clerk from the United Postal Service and an Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Besides his mother he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Robert N. Norfleet of Suffolk. Two nieces and two great nieces. A funeral service will be conducted Monday morning at 11 a.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Kenneth E. Whetzel. Burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will be at 209½ N. Broad St. Sunday night the family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Organ Fund of Main Street United Methodist Church.
