LETTIE MAE CLIFTON

  SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Lettie Mae Clifton, 73, was held at 11 a.m. 
Monday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by Dr. R.E. Brittle.  Burial was in 
Holly Lawn Cemetery.

   Mrs. Clifton died Thursday night in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Creswell, N.C. she was the widow of Ernell Clifton.

   Survivors include five daughters, Girlyn Felton and Rita Long of Suffolk, 
Evora Buckles of Briston, Tenn., Vickie Mintz of Ivor and Joyce Futrell of 
Portsmouth; two sons, Dallas E. Young of Gulfport, Miss., and Leroy Long of 
Richmond; two sisters, Frances Edwards of Portsmouth, Marjorie Spear of 
Creswell; two brothers, Leon Hassell of San Antonio, Texas, and Nathaniel 
Barnes of Marks, Miss.; 24 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
