MARY LYDA WOOD COUNCILL

   SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Lyda Wood Councill, 84, was held 
Monday at 3 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home by the Revs. Ira D. Hudgins and R.E. 
Brittle.  Burial was in Holland Cemetery.

   Mrs. Councill died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Nansemond County, she was the widow of Jesse E. Councill.

   She was a member of Holland Congregational Christian Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nell Joyner of Franklin; a son, Shirley 
G. Councill; and two sisters, Mrs. Jobie N. Holland and Mrs. J.M. Fanney Sr., 
all of Suffolk; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
