JAMES HERBERT CROCKER

   SUFFOLK - James Herbert Crocker, 82, of the 500 block of Western Ave., a 
retired life insurance salesman, died Jan. 24, in a hospital.

    Mr. Crocker, a native of Isle of Wight County, was retired from 
Southwestern General Life Insurance Co.  He was the widow of Edith H. Crocker.

   Survivors include a daughter, Rose Heffington of Suffolk; and one 
grandchild.

   A funeral was conducted Tuesday in the R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home by 
the Rev. Merle Correll.  Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
