Suffolk - A funeral service for James Jacob Daughtrey Sr., 61, was held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Revs. Wayne Harrison and Donald Trump. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. He died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He was a native of Nansemond County and the husband of Mrs. Lucille Carr Daughtrey. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed salesman and a member of Holland Baptist Church. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Patricia D. Duck and Miss Selena S. Daughtrey of Suffolk, Mrs. Linda D. Johnson and Mrs. Peggy D. Hobbs of Courtland; a son, James J. Daughtrey, Jr. of Suffolk; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah D. Chalker of Norfolk, Mrs. Jean D. Newton of Newport News and Mrs. Becky D. Smith of Carrollton; two brothers, Daren P. Daughtrey of Norfolk and Charles H. Daughtrey of Suffolk; and 10 grandchildren.
