WILLIAM CURTIS DARDEN

   IVOR - William Curtis Darden, 53, of Route 1, died Jan. 17, in Isle of 
Wight County.

   Mr. Darden, a native of Nansemond County, was a retired carpenter and 
farmer and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and Carrsville Hunt Club.

   Survivors include his wife, Sue Neave Darden; a daughter, Carolyn Darden 
Cutchin of Suffolk; a step-daughter, Margaret Frances Holland of Ivor; two 
stepsons, Benjamin Edward Holland of Ivor and Russell Awood Holland of Ft. 
Benning, Ga.; his mother, Virgie Johnson Darden of Franklin; six sisters, 
Doris D. Hill and Glenn D. Taylor, both of Franklin, Sandra D. Cook of 
Newsoms, Minnie D. Lankford of Carrsville, and Mae D. Whitmore and Joyce D. 
Buhls, both of Suffolk; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

   A funeral was conducted Monday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Franklin, by 
the Rev. Hershel Hill.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Wright Funeral 
Home, Franklin was in charge of arrangements.
