LUCILLE GARDNER O誰EAL ENGLISH 

   SUFFOLK - A funeral service for Lucille O誰eal English, 69, was held at 
1 a.m. Monday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul J. Rowe. 
Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

   Mrs. English died Friday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Nansemond County, she was the wife of William H. English. 

   She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church and United Methodist 
Women and was a retired department manager for Montgomery Ward Co.

   Survivors include a daughter, Peggy O. Whitehead of Windsor; a son, Davis 
P. O誰eal of Suffolk; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Darden of Carrsville, a stepson, 
William E. English, and a brother Oscar W. Gardner, both of Suffolk; three 
stepbrothers, R.E. Baker of Suffolk, Holmes Baker of Corapeake, N.C., and 
Robert Baker of Norfolk; a stepsister, Bernice Jones of Drum Hill, N.C.; and 
10 grandchildren.

Her first husband, Claudius Felton JOHNSON, is buried with his parents 
   Ryland Claudius & Mittie Olifa (POWELL) JOHNSON in Newman Memorial 
   Cemetery, Oakland Christian Church, Chuckatuck. 
   Felton's D.Cert. (1935-29310) gives them as Ryland Floyd & Minnie Olivia 
   (POWELL) JOHNSON. 

Her parents, Delaware T. & "Della" Odella (PINNER) GARDNER, are buried in 
   Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
