A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of James Lloyd Freeman. She had retired from Southland Corp. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Victory Boulevard Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Survivors include a daughter, Gail W. Riley, a son. Eric M. Freeman, both of Portsmouth; a brother, George Thomas Oliver of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Erin R. Riley and James A. Riley. The funeral will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Karika in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at 3807 Aspin St., Portsmouth. Evelyn Onida (OLIVER BUTLER; Mrs. James L.) Her second husband (1917 - 1969) is also buried there. He was an Army veteran of WW-II. Her mother Nancy (LANKFORD) OLIVER (1898 - 1991) is also buried there. Her obit appeared in the "Virginian-Pilot," Sat., May 11, 1991. D.Cert. 93-046861 Her father Clyde Richard (1901 - 1965) was an Army veteran. He is buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk - Block H, Lot 79.
