Hethorn Mrs. Harriet Whitley Hethorn, formerly of Suffolk, died early this morning at a nursing home in South Boston. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of the Rev. John William Hethorn, and a daughter of the late Jesse and Hattie Batten Whitley. She was a member of the Suffolk Presbyterian Church and attended Farmville State Teachers College. She served as librarian at the Suffolk Woman's Club Library and the Morgan Memorial Library for 30 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Eleanor H. Moser of Norfolk and Mrs. Ann H. Fitzgerald of South Hill; three brothers, E.S. Whitley of Gates Co., N.C., J.M. Whitley of Suffolk and S.A. Whitley of Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Hutson Councill of Winter Park, Fla.; four grandchildren; three great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Suffolk Presbyterian Church by Dr. Andrew R. Byrd and the Rev. Edward Page. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Suffolk Presbyterian Church or Morgan Memorial Library. R.W. Bird, and the Rev. Edward Page. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Pallbearers were John Fitzgerald, David Fitzgerald, Russell Beamon, Thomas J. O'Connor, Phil Moser, Eley Duke. R.W.
