Holland, 22, were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by Hershel Hill. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. He died Sunday while swimming in Butler’s Lake in Isle of Wight County. A son of William B. Holland Sr., and the late Mrs. Grace Cottle Holland, he was employed by Melvin Lilly as a floor-covering installer. He was a graduate of Forest Glen High School in Suffolk. He was a member of the Somerton Friends Meeting, the young people’s Sunday school class and the Box Elder Hunt Club. Other survivors include his stepmother, Mrs. Annie L. Holland; a sister, Mrs. Rosemary H. Lonberger of Suffolk; two brothers, William B. Holland Jr. and R. Mark Holland, both of Suffolk; and a stepsister, Ms. Rebecca Hayes of Alexandria.
