He formerly resided in the Five Forks Road area in Windsor. He was born Nov. 26, 1910, and was the son of the late Charlie Edward and Annie Mary Holland. Mr. Holland was the widower of Glennie Byrum Holland and was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters, Coleman, Charlie and Johnnie Holland, Bessie Howell, Minnie West, Marie Hayes, Mary Tate and Dorothy Beaton. He is survived by three daughters, Peggy H. Haverty and husband, Davie, of Smithfield, Va., Polly H. Little of Severna Park, Md., and Judy H. Whitley and husband Jimmie, of Windsor; and grandchildren, Billy Haverty and wife Sheerie, and their son, Matthew, Susie Mace and husband, Dave, Kathy and Ginger Little, and Beth Hughes and husband, Brent, and their daughter, Heather, and Linda Miller and husband, Horace, and their daughters, Whitley and Lorber. He was also predeceased by is son-in-law, J.T. Little formerly of Severna. He was a member of Woodland Methodist Church and a retired farmer in Isle of Wight County, VA. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Hill Funeral Home.
