A native of Suffolk, she was the widow of John Roland Hampton, and the daughter of the late Henry E. [sic; L. Henry] and Mrs. Florence Judkins. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Hampton Grocery Store for many years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Roland E. Hampton, and one sister, Mrs. Bertha Pope, both of Suffolk: one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hill Underwood Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. O.R. Hardy.
