Mr. Hingerty, a Nansemond County native, retired from Albert Ford Co. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church; American Legion Post 57; and the Disabled American Veteran, Suffolk Chapter 5. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Addie Johnson Hingerty; a daughter, Sandra H. Salmon of Suffolk; a son, Clinton A. Hingerty Jr. of Courtland; his mother, Alice S. Hingerty of Suffolk; and five grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Monday in Liberty Baptist Church by the Rev. T.A. Powell. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
