He was a native of Norfolk and a former resident of Suffolk. He was the husband of Mrs. Anne E. Harcum, and the son of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Harrell Harcum of Greensboro. An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he was a retired, 30 year supervisor for the Ford Motor Co., San Jose, Calif. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Other survivors include two stepdaughters, Mrs. Robert L. Harcum of San Jose and Mrs. Harry J. Hubler of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two daughters, Miss Mary Stewart Harcum of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Beth Alford of Mooresville, Ind.; a stepson, Thomas G. Lane of Hertford; a brother Spurgeon Harcum, Jr. of Greensboro. The body will be sent to I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home, where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will be at 1321 Planters Drive, Suffolk.
