Shirley H. Horton 

  PORTSMOUTH - Shirley H. Horton, 62, of 1824 County St., died Tuesday in a 
Hampton hospital. 

  He was the widower of Margaret White Horton and was a retired truck driver. 
He was a Baptist and a World War II Army veteran. 

  Surviving are a daughter, Miss Joyce Ann Horton of Huntsville, Ala.; a son, 
Lt. Steve Horton of Biloxi, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. B.L. Riddick Jr. of Suffolk; 
two brothers, Edward Horton of Suffolk and Robert H. Horton of Portsmouth. 

  A funeral service was held today at 11 a.m. at the graveside in Meadowbrook 
Memorial Gardens by the Rev. William Charles Tatum.  Sturtevant Funeral Home 
was in charge of arrangements.

He 1m. Ethel Louise WEST, 26 Sep 1941 in Whaleyville.  (Nansemond Co. #131) 
   Ethel 2m. a KEMP.  She (1923 - 2001) is buried in Huntsville Memorial 
   Gardens, Huntsville, Madison Co., AL. 

He 2m. Margaret Lee (WHITE; Mrs. Percy Colon) CLAPP (1920 - 1980). 
   Margaret is buried with her parents, "Jack" Romie Lee Jr. & Sarah Elizabeth 
   "Lizzie" in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. 
   Find a Grave Memorial #24714080 mistakes CLAPP as her maiden name. 
   Margaret's step-mother Nancy STRANGE FUNDERBUCK WHITE (1902 - 1988) 
   is also buried in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. 

Percy (1913 - 1958) is buried in Beverly Cemetery, Blue Island, Cook Co., IL.
