John Walter Jones Sr. 

  DISPUTANTA - John Walter Jones Sr., died Wednesday, May 10, at Southside 
Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. 

  Mr. Jones was a native of Ivor.  He was retired from Bracey & Johnson and a 
member of Ivor Baptist Church.  He is the son of the late Charles H. Jones and 
Ella Gray Jones and the widower of Susie Bell Luter Jones.

  Survivors include two daughters, Alma J. Parham of Virginia Beach and Jannie 
J. Byrum of Suffolk; one son, John W. Jones Jr. of Disputanta; eight 
grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. 

  A graveside service was held Friday, May 12, at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Christian 
Church in Suffolk.  Dr. R. E. Brittle officiated.
