Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. B.J. Willett. Burial with Masonic rites was in Bethlehem Church Cemetery. He died Wednesday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. A native of Winston-Salem, N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Taylor Lawson. He was a self-employed nurseryman. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, the Izaak Walton League and Suffolk Golf Association. He was also a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge 340, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies, Khedive Shrine Temple of Norfolk and Suffolk Shrine Club. Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Linda Leigh Lawson of Richmond; a son, Red R. Lawson of Windsor; a sister, Mrs. Ola Printup of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Paul V. Lawson of Winston-Salem; and a grandchild. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners’ Crippled Children’s Hospital or Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
