MRS. CARRIE RUSSELL NICHOLS

   Suffolk - A funeral service for Mrs. Carrie Russell Nichols, 80, was held 
Tuesday at 11 a.m. in I.O. Hill & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert D. Fridley 
and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.

   She died Sunday in a hospital.

   She was a native of Nansemond County and the widow of Charlie Nichols.

   She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

   Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret N. Jernigan; two sons, Charlie E. 
Nichols and Russell D. Nichols, all of Suffolk; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie 
Frances Butler of Franklin, Mrs. Iola Nixon of Courtland and Mrs. Lessie Mae 
Rountree and Mrs. Alease Howell of Suffolk; two brothers, Surry L. Russell of 
Disputanta and B. Woodrow Russell of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-
grandchildren.
