Nelson, 62, of the 3100 block of Indian Trail, a retired registered nurse, died Nov. 25 in a hospital. Mrs. Nelson was a native of Rocky Gap. She was a member of the women’s auxiliary of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5. Survivors include her husband, William J. Nelson Sr.; four daughters, Wanda Jean McClenny, Linda K. Wright and Shelby L. Pittard all of Suffolk and Beverly J. Holland of Zuni; a son, William J. Nelson Jr. of Suffolk; three sisters, Betty Edwards of Baltimore, Nellie Atwell of Rocky Gap and Peggy Hall of Bestian; four brothers, William Tolbert of Rocky Gap, Scotty Tolbert of Bastian, Ronnie Tolbert of Elizabeth City and Billy R. Tolbert of Baltimore; and seven grandchildren. The funeral was conducted Friday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dolan Talbert. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery.
