Mr. Norris was a native of Surry County. He was a farmer. Mr. Norris was a member of Oakland Christian Church, Chuckatuck Station, Chuckatuck Ruritan Club, American Legion Post #57, Suffolk, and the Oakland Men's Bible class. Survivors include: his mother, Mrs. Annie Britt Norris, Windsor; two sisters, Emma Eloise N. Watkins and Mamie Blanche N. Knox, both of Portsmouth; four brothers, Robert W. Norris, Gulfport, Miss., Raymond R. Norris, Franklin M. Norris and Melvin B. Norris, all of Windsor. Funeral services were held August 7, 11:00 a.m., at Oakland Christian Church, officiated by David L. Wilson. Burial was held at Newman Memorial Cemetery, Chuckatuck Station, Suffolk. Pallbearers: Joseph T. Epps, Bennie F. Epps, Claude A. Nurney, Wiley T. Jones, Morgan Smith and Cecil Rhodes. Memorial donations may be made to the Newman Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 2008, Suffolk, Virginia 23432.
