A native of Isle of Wight County, he was the widower of Lillian Crocker Odey and a son of the late Tom and Odelia Riddick Odey. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. James E. Bacus and Mrs. Arthur Joyner of Suffolk, Mrs. Randolph Carpenter of Windsor, Mrs. M.R. Dickerson of Glen Dale, Ariz., and Mrs. Ida Towers of Newport News; one son, Roscoe T. Odey of Chuckatuck Station; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Sadler of Smithfield and Mrs. Ada White of Hopewell; one half-brother, Bob Odey of Windsor; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the I.O. Hill Funeral Home by Rev. William M. Everhart. Burial will be in Newman Cemetery. The family will be in the home of Mrs. Arthur Joyner, 184 Moore Farm Lane. They are buried in Woodland Methodist Church Cemetery, apparently unmarked; not on IWCHS GSSTF report #24.
