SUFFOLK - Frank Frederick Powers Jr., of the 700 block of Turlington Road died June 26, in a hospital. Mr. Powers, a native of Bedford, worked for Lipton Tea Company as a mechanic. He was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ and the McAlister Masonic Lodge No. 185. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Weaver Powers; two daughters, Jinny P. Garber of Virginia Beach and Kelly P. Reynolds of Windsor; a son, Thomas W. Powers of Suffolk; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Powers Sr. of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Anne P. Hopewell and Rebecca P. Waff, both of Virginia Beach; and one grandchild. The funeral was conducted June 28, in Holy Neck United Church of Christ by the Rev. E.C. Smith. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the church memorial fund.
