Harrell Funeral Home by Dr. Wayne W. Poplin. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Rhodes died Wednesday in a hospital. A native of Windsor, he was co-owner with his wife Marie C. Rhodes of James R. Rhodes Tax and Bookkeeping Service. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Rhodes was a member of First Baptist Church, the Barnhill Sunday School Class, Purdie Masonic Lodge 170, Mount Nebo Royal Arch Chapter 20, Khedive Shrine Temple and Portsmouth Commandery 5, Knights Templar. Other survivors include a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Rhodes Jr. of Winston- Salem, N.C.; and a sister, Mildred R. Johnson of Franklin.
