MAUDE SMITH RIDDICK

   SUFFOLK - Maude S. Riddick, 83, of the 100 block of Park Road, died 
June 29, in a Chesapeake hospital.

   Mrs. Riddick, a Nansemond County native, was a member of Bethlehem 
Christian Church.

   Survivors include four daughters, Grace R. Salmon of Ivor, Marion R. 
Byrd and Barbara A. Griffin, both of Suffolk, Betty R. Holland of Boca 
Raton, Fla.; two sons, Ryland J. Riddick and Charlie W. Riddick of 
Suffolk; four sisters, Alice Hingerty of Norfolk, May S. Thompson, 
Susie S. Wade and Maggie Stone, all of Suffolk; 12 grandchildren; and 
14 great-grandchildren.

   The funeral was held Wednesday in Hill-Underwood Funeral Home by the 
Revs. Charles W. Thompson and Merle Correll.  Burial was in Bethlehem 
Christian Church Cemetery.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad.
