Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. T.A. Powell. Burial was in Holly Lawn cemetery. Rankin died Wednesday in Hampton Veterans Hospital. He was a native of Sedgewick, Maine, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a welder for Ferguson Manufacturing Co., and member of Liberty Baptist Church and Local 125 of Norfolk Musicians Association. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary R. Munford of Windsor and Mrs. Betty R. Carrow of Chocowinity, N.C.; two sons, Donald E. Rankin, Jr. of Washington, N.C. and George W. Rankin of Galesville, Ky.; and six grandchildren.
