WILLIAM GERALD SAVAGE

   PORTSMOUTH - Funeral services for William Gerald Savage, 67, were held 
Tuesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. William C. Tatum. 
Burial will be in Great Fork Baptist Church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were: Elliott Milteer, Joe R. Ward, Alfred H. Ellis, Jerry 
Garris, Leslie Stiers and W.H. Felton.

   Savage a resident of Manning Nursing Home died Saturday in a hospital.

   He was a native of Nansemond County and a retired rural paper carrier.

   He was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church.

   Survivors include three sisters, Odell S. Branch of Richmond, Virginia 
Small of Portsmouth, and Martha S. Foster of Windsor; a brother, William 
Aubrey Savage of Sudlersville, Md.; and nieces and nephews.
