Stetson, 58, of 707 N. Broad St., died Friday afternoon at DePaul Hospital, Norfolk. A native of Auburn, Maine [sic*], he was the husband of Ellen Hayes Stetson. He was a graduate of Bates College, Lewiston, Me., and Tufts Medical School, Boston, Mass. He was a Captain in the Army Medical Corps during World War II and served in the South Pacific. Following his discharge from the service, he trained in Radiology at the University of Illinois Research and Educational Hospital, Chicago. From its opening in 1951, Dr. Stetson served as Chief of the Radiology Department at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the American Medical Association, the American Board of Radiology, The Radiological Society of North America, the Virginia Chapter of the American College of Radiology, the National Board of Medicine, the National, Board of Medical Examiners, the Virginia Medical Society and the Tri-County Medical Society. He has also served as president of the staff at Obici for several years. Other survivors include a son, Lawrence J. Stetson Jr. of Yakima, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Duncan Crawford of Edina, Minn.; and three grandchildren. A Christian Wake Service will be held 7 p.m. this evening. A funeral Mass will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Services will be conducted by Dr. Richard Loeffler, Chaplain at DePaul Hospital and Dr. Thomas A. Henry, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad. The family will be at 707 N.
