Mrs. Stripling was a native of Charles City. Survivors include her husband, James L. Stripling; two daughters, Patricia E. Smith and Peggy C. Baggett, both of Suffolk; two sons, James A. Stripling of Windsor and Michael R. Stripling of Suffolk; a sister, Frances Drewery of Lanexa; two brothers, Claude V. New of Lanexa and James R. New of Richmond; and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home in Suffolk officiated by Rev. W.S. Kidd. Burial was in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 97, Smithfield, Va. 23430.
