SELBY Suffolk - Funeral services for Horace H. Selby were held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. funeral Home by the Rev. G. Thomas Brown. Burial was in the Holly Lawn Cemetery. Selby died Wednesday [sic; Tuesday] in Richmond. A native of Hampton, he was the husband of Mrs. Audrey Clements Selby. He was Tidewater regional director for the State Department of Welfare. He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, where he served on many church boards, and Gray Memorial Bible Class. He was an Army veteran of World War [II]. Other survivors include two sons, Dean Clements Selby of Windsor and Hunter Lee Selby of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Anderson of Newport News and Mrs. Rosalie Hatchett of Roanoke; two brothers, George Selby and Raymond Selby of Hampton; and a grandson.
