Baker & Co. Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward M. Garrett Jr. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Slavin died Early Wednesday in Riverside Hospital, Newport News. A native of Southampton County, whe was a daughter of William Nicholas Kitchen and Mrs. Elizabeth Yates Kitchen and the wife of Charles B. Slavin. She was a member of Benn's United Methodist church. Besides her husband, surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ira L. Sadler Sr., of Wilmot, Wis. and Mrs. Junius H. Britt of Nansemond; a son, Fred H. Austin of Carrollton; a sister Mrs. Frances Joyner of Handsom; three brothers, Oscar Kitchen of Nansemond, George Thomas Kitchen of Franklin and David Kitchen of Courtland; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
