SAUNDERS Suffolk - Ethel Butler Saunders, 93, a retired secretary, died June 2, 1986, in a Franklin Hospital. Mrs. Saunders, a native of Suffolk, had retired from Union Life Insurance Co., after 26 years. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, where she sang in the choir for 53 years. She was a member of the Constantia Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a charter member of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century and had served as registrar for its Virginia chapter and as treasurer for its Suffolk chapter. Survivors include three daughters, Sarah S. Basque of Lodi, Calif., Florence S. Larmer of Atlanta and Grace S. Forbes of Franklin; a son, James H. Saunders Sr. of Suffolk; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery by the Rev. Paul Carmany. R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will be at 916 Maryland Ave., Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. Ethel Katherine (BUTLER; Mrs. Ray J.)
