A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a lifelong resident of Suffolk. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, its West Memorial Sunday School Class and the Women's Fellowship Circle No. 5. Survivors include three sons, Richard E. Saunders of Suffolk, Percy Clifton Saunders Jr. of Danville, Pa., and Charles D. Saunders of Richmond; two sisters, Ethel Klages of Suffolk and Katherine Hasty of Portsmouth; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in the Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Thomas H. Britton of Suffolk Christian Church. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home, and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Suffolk Christian Church.
