All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ ROBERT EDWARD WATSON FRANKLIN - Robert Edward Watson, 66, of the 100 block of Sunset Drive, a retired accountant, died Oct. 12, in a hospital. Mr. Watson, a native of Murfreesboro, N.C., was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the board of trustee, stewards board, and served as the church treasurer. He was a member of the Men’s Sunday School and served as the group’s president. He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was a former president of the Franklin Jaycees and former vice president of the Franklin Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Rawls Watson; two daughters, Pat Watson of Wilmington, N.C. and Kathryn Watson Murphy of Pittsburg, Pa.; a son, Robert E. Watson Jr. of Harrisonburg; his mother, Elva Worrell Watson of Murfreesboro; and a brother, James W. Watson of Richmond. The graveside service was conducted Wednesday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, by the Revs. John Siegle, A.D. Goodson and Robert Fridley. Wright Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Chapter of the American Cancer Society of High Street United Methodist Church.
