WITHERS EDWARD WELLS

   WAKEFIELD - Withers Edward Wells, 80, of Route 1, a retired farmer, died 
Oct. 1, in his home.

   Mr. Wells, a native of Isle of Wight County, was the widower of Ida May 
Nelms Wells.  He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church, Ivor.

   Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann Newsome of Wakefield and Ada Mae 
Newsome of Ivor; a brother, George W. Wells of Waverly; a sister Henrietta W. 
Munford of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

   The funeral was conducted Saturday in Purviance Funeral Chapel by the Rev. 
Irvin Acree.  Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk.

   Purviance Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Rescue Squad.
