Born in Nansemond County, he retired from Planters' Peanut Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Main Street, Suffolk, and the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Annie Lanier Britt Wilkins; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Wilkins Barnes of Danville; two sons, Fred Earl Wilkins of Suffolk and Eugene Wesley Wilkins of Delane, Fla.; two stepsons, Robert Lanier Britt of Hartfield, Conn., and Warren Hunter Britt of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie W. Bouce of Suffolk and Mrs. Ruth W. Hayes of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hill-Underwood Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Charels W. Thompson and the Rev. Mark Youndt. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight in the funeral home. ****************************************************************************** EUGENE WILKINS Eugene Wilkins, 86, of Wilkins Drive died Saturday in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Nansemond County and the husband of Anne Lanier Britt Wilkins. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Main Street, and Woodmen of the World. He was a retired employee of Planters Peanut Co. Other survivors include a daughter, Doris W. Barnes of Danville; four sons, Fred Earl Wilkins of Suffolk, Eugene Wesley Wilkins of DeLand, Fla., Robert Louis Britt of Hartford, Conn., and Warren Hunter Britt of Roanoke; two sisters, Maggie Williams Boyce of Suffolk and Ruth Wilkins Hayes of Baltimore; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hill-Underwood Funeral Home by the Rev.s Charles W. Thompson and Mark Youndt. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today.
