CUTHBERT COOKE WARD

   Suffolk - A funeral service for Cuthbert Cooke Ward, 85, was held Monday at 
2:30 p.m. in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Revs. W.C. Tatum and Clark A. 
Wise. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery.

   He died Saturday in Autumn Care Nursing Home.

   A native of Chowan County, N.C., he was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary 
Asbell Ward.

   Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Juanita W. Speight and Mrs. Janet W. 
Spain of Suffolk, Mrs. Vivian N. Felton of Capron, and Mrs. Phyllis W. Hosier of 
Richmond; five sisters, Mrs. Clemma W. Copeland of Tyner, N.C., Mrs. Beuna W. 
Byrum of Edenton, N.C., Mrs. Ronella W. Harrell of Colerain, N.C., and Mrs. Reba 
W. Layden and Mrs. Velma W. Blanchard of Ryland, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 
great-grandchildren.
