SURRY COUNTY, VA - COURT - Joseph Bridges, Court Ordered Sale, 19 Jul 1809 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Court Records: Joseph Bridges (1736) At a Court Held for Surry County July ye 19th 1809 On the attachment obtained by Joseph Bridges against the estate of George Ginn who is lately absconded it appearing by the sheriffs return that he hath attached one cow and calf, one young stear, one bull and a parcell of lumber & also summoned Edward Davis, John Doby & Peter Smith who all three appearing confessed upon oath that they had severall things belonging to the said George Ginn and the said Joseph Bridges having made oath that the said George Ginn is indebted to him the sume of three pounds fifteen shillings currant money and that he hath not received any satisfaction for the same, it is therefore ordered that the said Edward Davis, John Doby and Peter Smith do deliver all and singular the things that they have belonging to the said George Ginn to Capt. Thomas Avent, sheriff, who is hereby ordered to make sale of the same together with the goods that he hath attached at publick outcry for the best price that can be gotten for the same and that he do pay unto the said Joseph Bridges the above said sum of three pounds fifteen shillings currant money costs out of the money arising from the said sale, that he make return of his proceedings therein at the next court.
