SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - John Allen to William George, 15 Nov 1737 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: John Allen-William George, Southmark Twnship, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE BETWEEN JOHN ALLEN & WILLIAM GEORGE 15th NOV 1737 THIS INDENTURE made the fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty seven between John Allen, gentleman of Surry County of the one part and William George, planter of the County of Surry, aforementioned of the other part. Whereas the said John Allen by Indenture bearing date the day before the date hereof for the consideration therein expressed did bargain & sell unto the said William George a certain tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances thereof situate, lying and being in Lawnes Creek Parish in the County of Surry, aforesaid containing by estimation two hundred and forty acres of land be the same more or less and is bounded as in the new recited Indenture may appear. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said land with the appurtenances unto the said William Goerge, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns for a certain time therein limited and expressed to the intent that by virtue thereof and of the statute for transferring of uses into possession the said William George might be in actuall possession of the said land and be enabled to accept of a grant and release of the premises to him, his heirs and assigns forever as by the said recited Indenture at large may appear. SOW THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said John Allen for and in consideration of the sum of eight pounds currant money by the said William George to him in hand paid whereof he doth hereby acknowledge the receipt, hath granted, demised, released and confirmed and doth by these presents demise, release and confirm unto the said William George in his actual possession now thereof by virtue of the said recited Indenture and of the statute to his heirs and assigns the aforesaid land with the appurtenances and all the estate right, title, interest claim and demand whatsoever of the said John Allen of in and or the same and every part thereof and the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders thereof and every part thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said land with the appurtenances unto the said William George, his heirs and assigns forever to the only use and behoof of the said William George, his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Allen, his heirs and assigns the above granted land and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said William George, his heirs and assigns against him the said John Allen and his heirs and against all other persons whichsoever shall and will warrant and forever by these presents defend and the said John Allen for himself, his heirs, executors, administrators, assigns doth covenant and grant to and with the said William George, his heirs and assigns by these presents that he, the said John Allen, now is and standeth lawfully and rightfully seized of and in the said land with the appurtenances of a deed pure, perfect & indefeizable estate in fee simple and hath sold? rights and lawfull authority and power to grant and convey the said land with the appurtenances unto the said William George and his heirs according to the true intent any meaning of these presents. IN WITNESS whereof the said John Allen hath hereunto sett his hand and seal the day and year above written.
