SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Henry Hunt to John Allen, 13 Apr 1736 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: John Allen-Henry Hunt, Southmark Parish, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE BETWEEN JOHN ALLEN & HENRY HUNT (4-13-1736) (partial) THIS INDENTURE made the thirteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six BETWEEN Henry Hunt of Lawnes Creek Parish in the County of Surry of the first part and John Allen of Southmark Parish in the County of Surry aforesaid of the other part. WHEREAS the said Henry Hunt, by Indenture bearing date the day before the date hereof for the consideration therein assigns, did bargain, and sell unto the said John Allen a certain tract or parcell of land with the appurtenances thereof scituate lying and being in the south side of Nottaway River in the parish of Lawnes Creek and County of Surry containing by estimation five hundred and twenty acres of land be the same more or less it being all the residue and remainder of a pattent granted to William Hunt, deceased father to the said Henry Hunt, for eleven hundred and twenty acres of land of letters pattents dated at Williamsburgh the twelfth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighteen; the other six hundred acres being formerly disposed of viz: two hundred acres by the said William Hunt deceased to Curtis Pind? and four hundred acres by the above named Henry Hunt to Moses Johnson which said land descended to the said Henry Hunt as heir as? son? and is bounded according to the most antient known and reported bounds thereof an in the said Indenture may appear. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said land with the appurtenances unto the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns for a certain time therein limitted and expressed to the intent, this by virtue thereof, and of the statute for transferring of uses into possession, the said John Allen might be in actuall possession of the said land and be enabled to accept of a grant the Release of the Premises to him, his heirs and assigns forever as by the said recited Indenture at large may appear. NOT THIS INDENTURE WITNESSETH that the said Henry Hunt for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds currant money of Virginia by the said John Allen . . . . .
