SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - Henry Hunt to John Allen, 12 Apr 1736 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: John Allen-Henry Hunt, Southmark Twnship, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE BETWEEN JOHN ALLEN & HENRY HUNT (4-12-1736) THIS INDENTURE made the twelfth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty six BETWEEN Henry Hunt of Lawnes Creek Parish in the County of Surry of the first part and John Allen of Southmark Parish in the County of Surry aforesaid of the other part. WITNESSETH that the said Henry Hunt for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings to him in hand paid the recipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and thereof doth acquit and discharage the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns, hath bargained, sold and doth by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns a certain tract or parcell of land with their appurtenances thereof scituate lying and being on the south side of Nottoway River in the parish of Lawnes Creek ye County of Surry aforesaid containing by estimation five hundred and twenty acres of land be the same more or less, it being all the residue and remainder of a pattent granted to William Hunt deceased, father to the said Henry Hunt for eleven hundred and twenty acres of land by letter pattent dated at Williamsburgh the twelfth day of November one thousand seven hundred and eighteen, the other six hundred acres being formerly disposed of, viz: Two hundred acres by the said William Hunt deceased to Curtis Pind?, four hundred acres by the above named Henry Hunt to Moses Johnson which said land descended to the said Henry Hunt as had at law? & is bounded according to the most ancient known and reputed bounds thereof & also the reversion and reversions, remainder and remainders thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid land with its appurtenances unto the said John Allen, his executors, administrators and assigns from the day next before the date hereof unto the end and term and for and during the term of one year from the next insuing to the intent that by virtue thereof and of the statute for transfering uses into possession, the said John Allen may be in the actuall possession of the said land and be enabled to take and accept a grant and Release of the Premises to him, his heirs and assigns forever.
