SURRY COUNTY, VA - DEEDS - John Allen to Robert Lancaster, Jr, 20 Aug 1712 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deeds: John Allen-Robert Lancaster, Southmark Twnship, Surry Co, VA INDENTURE BETWEEN JOHN ALLEN & ROBERT LANCASTER (AUG 1712) Know all men by these presents that I, John Allen of the County of Surry, am held and firmly bound unto Robert Lancaster Jr of the County aforesaid in the full and just sum of twelve thousand pounds of good merchantable tobacco in sufficient caske to the true payment whereof the said Robert, his heirs, executors, & administrators & assigns. I do bind myself, my heirs, executors & administrators firmly by these presents, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 20th day of August 1712. The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bound John Allen, his heirs, executors and administrators do, & shall, from time to time & at all times, forever hereafter will & truly observe, perform, fullfill & keep all & singular ye covenants, grants, articles, causes and agreements whatsoever which on his and their parts & behalfs is, are, & ought to be observed, performed, fullfilled & kept mentioned & contained in certain Indenture of ye lease of the date above written & made or mentioned to be made between the said John of the first part & the said Robert of the other part & that in & by all things according to the tenure, effect to true intent, & meaning of the same Indentures of me cease without fraud or coven that then this obligation to be void and of no effect or elce is to stand & abide in full power force & virtue.
